Anyone NOT have their residency application in yet?

Just wondering if I'm SUPER late of if there's many others that don't have their app in yet. I still have a little work to do on it.. hoping to have it in by early next week. I'm applying to Peds.

Should I be worried... am I really late? 🙁

Last week this would have been me! And I was totally looking for a thread like this because my classmates kept freaking me out that I was the only one left.

I just wanted to say I know for a fact that people haven't submitted yet, but I doubt there are many on this board. I have 5-6 friends who haven't and aren't worried. Of course, the rest of my class was intense and submitted on Sept 1st, but I'm doing an away rotation and overheard a bunch of fourth years talking about how they haven't done it yet. So I just wanted to let you know you certainly aren't the only one. Oh, and also, our dean has stated numerous times that Oct 1 is considered on the early side, so don't sweat it.

When I applied last year, it wasn't until October 1 so if you get it in now or really (REALLY) soon, you should be okay. The problem is that interview slots fill up, but if there is still space available, I don't think programs look down on you for applying later--but they may have stricter criteria for you to make the interview cut.

I also have a friend who was applying for one residency last year and decided mid-November that she wanted to do something else--Anesthesiology. She applied for Anesthesia in November and she still got into a great program, one of her top 3.

BTW, that's not to encourage anyone to wait until November.

Get in the groove and get your application in ASAP! 👍

General rule is Oct 1. Thats when many download. The issue as mentioned is interview slots filling up.
