Anyone out there with SEER database research experience?

I'm trying to get started on a research project using the SEER database. I've used SAS in the past, so that's the analytical software I've decided I'll try out. The only problem is I don't know how to export the SEER data into SAS and use it.
If there's anyone out there who has any experience with such, please help a fellow student out!
If you know of any other analytical software that's usable, and you know how to get started with SEER data, I'd love to hear about it.

Exporting Results

Export the matrix as a text file, tab or comma delimited, and import into SAS as such.

There might also be an option to export as a SAS file, not sure. I'm an SPSS guy.
