Someone who got accepted to med school with REALLY low stats? You hear stories all the time, but do you personally know anyone?

I didn't know anyone up until recently. One guy I know had a 27 MCAT and a 3.2 GPA but got into a top 25 school. Granted, he was Hispanic so that may have helped a tiny bit, but it's still pretty rad.

Also know a girl who got in with a 2.6 GPA... But she scored a 40 on the MCAT (OK so she only had half low stats). She decided to go to our state school, but apparently she also got accepted at another OOS school

I think this is virtually impossible for most posters on this forum. Even thought we scream it every other two seconds, it just resonates off the ringing that is already between their ears.

It must be ask stupid question/open stupid thread/make stupid comment night. Oh wait. that's everyday on SDN. How is it that these people who are supposedly sooo smart lack sooooo much common sense? 😕
