Has anyone been accepted to GWU recently?

Very bitter.

Interviewed at GW in Sept and got WAITLISTED there.
Getting waitlisted after an interview--what a low blow. Did I say like or um too much? Something in my teeth?

Getting a rejection by mail is almost not as bad as getting a post-interview "alternate" position. I feel personally attacked because they didn't like me or something.

AND......they started the letter (albeit thin so I figured it wasn't an acceptance...) "We are pleased to inform you..." BS.

Still nursing the wounds.......

I hope you have better luck.

Ha! greenie8, I feel your pain. Same thing happened to me. But remember, "you should be buoyed by the realization that many applicants are accepted from the alternate list."

Blah blah blah. I was bitter too for the same reasons.

ATPase and Greenie, when did you guys hear the news? I am checking my mail compulsively...😛

I got the notification around Oct. 20, I think.

Wow, that makes me feel better considering I have three waitlists at schools so far 😛issed:

I got the status of being an "alternate" as well. Disappointing. But I've heard that GW takes about 50% of its incoming class off the waitlist. However, that means we probably have to wait until May or so.

Are you guys considering writing letters of interest/intent?

I interviewed there mid-Oct. and they told us 4-8 weeks...has it been more like 8 for people, since I am just passing the 4 week mark? Do I still have a month to wait? 🙂

I do think there is really good waitlist movement at GW. My boyfriend went through this ordeal last year getting waitlisted there which is how I have any insight on this matter...however, alot of people here strongly advised him on writing a letter of intent, he did, and got accepted right after. I think letters of intent really help out alot at GW.
