anyone scrambled into DO residency?

So I called natmatch today, the service osteopathic residencies use to match students, regarding the process of scrambling and their reply was to simply call each program and go about it that way.

I want to know from anyone who has experience going through the osteopathic scramble what one needs to do to scramble into DO residency. I am switching specialties and therefore did not rank any programs in the DO match.

Also, which IM programs in the east coast should I totally avoid?
