I was watching Trauma: Life in the ER on TLC monday night and one of the surgical residents (I believe it was Grant Hospital in Columbus, Ohio) was a DO. I though that was cool, being that most of those on tv tend to be MD's. I also want to do surgery, so that just added to my excitement 👍 Although, I didn't catch his name. Anyone?

damn I passed out while watching the residents....🙁

On the Trauma episode in Las Vegas, one of the ER attendings was a DO. He was one of the "main characters." Though they never talked about it on the shower, you could often see XXX XXXXX, DO on his lab coat.

Good stuff.

They showed him in the shower??? Man, I have *got* to start watching Trauma!

LOL

Hello everyone.

I thought this might be interesting too. I was watching the discovery health channel's show called "critical trauma" I think. Anyway it took place at the University of Oklahoma's ER in Oklahoma City. I noticed all of the attendings on the show were DO's. I checked this out on-line and saw that about 80-90% of the attendings in that ER were DO's. I thought that was cool.

Uh...is this supposed to be ironic?

LOL - it wasn't planned... though it does work as irony.

Would you believe me if I told you I've had a long day? LOL.

P.S. I don't *think* there are any typos in this post.

Guess where I do my DO shadowing 🙂

Almost all of the residents in the ER/ICU/SICU are DO's

What did he look like? Glasses and blondish-brown hair?

Yep,
Glasses and brownish-blonde short hair. You shadow(ed) at Grant? What dept?

The department I shadowed in was the one you saw on tv. ER/Trauma Surgery.

I know the resident that you speak of. Very cool guy and went to LECOM.
