Hello fellow med students. I was wondering if anyone going to LSU attended this room. Also wanted to know if any of you had received your july information packet yet. If I don't get to talk to you before august, I'll see you then.

Toby from Tyler, TX?

Nope, Toby from Meraux Louisiana.

Toby, If you would, tell me a little about your stats. I applied to LSU NO to no avail. I cant understand why I didnt get an interview much less get in. MCAT 27, science gpa 3.14. I was actually told by administration that my MCAT was more than sufficient. What gives?

Billy, I got a 29 on my MCAT and had a 3.46 science GPA, but I still had two apply several times to gain acceptance. I can tell you from the demographics, that your MCAT is very acceptable, but your GPA is a bit low. I don't know if you had any other red flags on your application like Bad grade trends, lots of W's, misspelled words, or a weak essay. So my suggestion to you would be to schedule a counseling session with either Dr. Eubanks or Dr. McClugage. They are both great sources of info on what went wrong with your application and on what you can do to strengthen your app. Other than that, I can tell you that it wouldn't hurt to take some upper level biol classes to try to pad that GPA and REAPPLY!!!!!!!!!!!
