Anyone still working on their personal statement?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Done...exactly 5000 characters though lol

cool, you have to trim it a bit. 4500 characters max.

Did you guys mention your extra-curriculars again in the statement?

Well for the TMDSAS its 5000 🙂...well I mentioned a "touching" story which included skills that will be useful in the dental field...i guess you could mention extra curricular by describing how they are relevant to the field.

DONE AND E-SUBMITTED! I'd say this was the most annoying, yet gratifying part of the application. I mentioned certain extra-curriculars, and explained them in detail about how they would help me in dental school.

If anyone needs help with their PS, or needs it to be edited, let me know!

I'm still working on it too
This is really more time consuming than I expected! lol

I'm working on mine and it is very exciting. I look back at all the things I've done and overcome to get to this point and it makes me very proud!

Happy writing guys!

Kinda embarrassed, but I had mine done a month ago.

me too but Im not embarrassed. Saved myself some stress by having it ready to simply copy and paste into aadsas.

I'm too busy stressing out about studying. I KNOW I need to submit this app first but I can't pull myself away from the books! Anyone else going through this too?

What should a PS be about more? Why I want to be a dentist? Or a some detailed aspect of my character?

I would personally recommend focusing on the books first, esp if its the DAT youre talking about

Really? I shouldn't be SUBMITTINGEARLYSUBMITTINGEARLYSUBMITTEARLY? And then worry about my DATs? LOL I think I've been brainwashed on this forum and now I'm just panicking.

PS should concentrate on why you want to be a dentist and what experiences has led you to it. I've been revising my PS for really long. Even with critiques I feel that it can still be better. Currently I'm at 4200 spaces, hoping to submit it by this week after syntax corrections so I can just finish my application.

I'm at 7000 characters (with spaces). Its so hard to cut stuff out...especially since I feel I've written very concisely thus far. I want to give the adcoms a developed idea of who I am...this is hard to do with only 4500 characters.

7000 is alot! You need to decide whats important and what will display your traits the best. Cut the fat.
