i just talked to an admission counselor at a dent school and she basically said because my gpa is low (3.07), to take summer school, get A's and THEN send in the application and she said it wasn't too late by then. so i will be sending my application early August. i'm scheduled to take my DAT May 30th. is applying in early August considered late? 😕

How many credit hours do you have right now and how many hours do you plan on taking this summer. I really doubt you could manage to pull up your GPA by a significant amount over the course of one summer.

yea..you're right..i konw i won't be able to significantly change my gpa status...but i unfortunately had to withdraw from all my classes this semester due to personal family circumstances... and so i have 78 credit hours so far...plan to take 10 in the summer to make up for it....
i guess i just don't know whether to apply super early (mid may) with a 3.07 and withdrawn classes with upper level science courses.... or to raise the science gpa possibly by doing summer school and showing dent school that i'm still determined to get A's in upper level science courses while applying in early August (which is kinda late in my mind)...

no question about it..take the classes and then apply in early august. if you can get the 3.07 around 3.2 its worth it. good luck

yea u can apply early and then send in the grades later, but your application will likely be out by then, and either way the summer grades won't be part of the gpa's that are calculated. so if u want to have a better gpa when u apply, wait till u have all the grades
