Somebody said(ain't me) 100% of admitted students in USC had their bachelor degree, but when I went on their website it didn't state so. I would hate their PBL interview and essay writing part. If "somebody" is right then I won't bother to go to the interview.(my 60$ application fee would then claim to be totally wasted!!!! 😱 :scared: 👎 but guess what, I won't need to pay 70k or 80k a year  😍 👍 ) How much do they charge anyways, somebody said 45k, then somebody else said 75k, who's right?

I :scared: dont 😍 know :meanie: but  your 🙄 post😀 is :luck: very  entertaining 😱!

100% of their accepted students hold a bachelor's degree.
They NEVER accept ANYONE without it.
You can ask the admissions director or Eva Yen, admission staff.. they will specifically mention that they WANT people with degree.... though it doesn't state so on website

The reason is ...they just want to show off that all their students are BSc or etc etc....

tuition.... you know what? don't trust the tuition fee shown on their website or ADEA guide book.. USC tuition increases every year... a lot
now it's like 80K / yr (tuition + living expenses)...... plus, LA is an expensive city to live in.... hot weather & dirty streets...

the financial guy always mentions during orientation "you guys will have to live with instant noodles or mac & cheese for four years...."
and "during the repayment period of your debt, it's gonna be the same... mac & cheese"....

I used to like USC but after visiting several other schools like UPitt, UMichigan, Temple, USC is nothing....

AW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so screwed... and screw USC!!!
Anybody has a list of cost for each dental school for a peak?
My friend went to Washington and he loved the tuition there.

This is new to me. What part of LA are you refering to? Not sure about other kinds of food, but Vietnamese food is really cheap, good, and fresh down there.

Call me a food lover. I love Pho, and I have been to the Noodle World in long beach. Good price, good food. In downtown LA, Chinese food is Outrageously Cheap. Once I got a Beijing Duck for 10.99, which normally sells over 25$ easily in Vegas. I love the beach view and weather in Cali... much better than Nevada, BTW Cali girls appear smarter than LV chicks as well. Sigh, traffic in CA is the only thing I'm concerned of. 🙄

had any of you that went to the USC PBL session met Eva Yen? i didn't..

I guess LV looks for something else

Yes I have. Shes very nice. I love the PBL program as well. Seems like USC students live a very kickback lifestyle yet get high scores on board exams.

Those were the two things that really stood out for me while I was at USC: the high board scores and that all of the students I spoke with confirmed the rumors that they have a lot of time on their hands and seem to really enjoy themselves.

Not necessarily smarter, just a LOT more competitive. 😳

As for traffic, you will get used to it. Just stay away from Porsche drivers; many of them speed up when you show interest in their lane.

As for the kickback lifestyle, that can be attributed to USC's high % of graduates going into general dentistry/private practice and not directly into a competitive residency or specialty program. And, of course, PBL creates another sort of academic lifestyle.

It's a tough choice. I don't know which to value more. Sanity or money? :scared:

That is not what I heard from my interview with USC. Actually, since the PBL system started, 40% of USC dental students apply to Specialization and 90% get in.

Really? Hmm. People are lying to me again....grr.

USC seems like a great school! If you can get past the tuition it seems like it has a lot of advantages.
