Anyone using step up to medicine for Step 1 study?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
Step Up to Medicine is a good book for third year IM clerkship, but I wouldn't bother with it for Step 1.

Rapid Review Pathology is a much better alternative to Step up to Medicine for Step 1. RR explains the pathophysiology behind diseases, which is heavily tested on Step 1. RR also gives you the clinical features for each disease.

SUTM on the other hand rarely goes into pathophysiology and has too much information about diagnosis and treatment (more than you need to know for step 1). Don't get me wrong, I'm reading SUTM right now in preparation for rotations and I think it's a great book for IM, but it won't be of much help for Step 1.

you know, as I look back on it, I wish I went through SUTM during 2nd year along with our pathophys course. I think it would've been useful and helped w/ background knowledge prior to hitting rotations. That said, I wouldn't use it specifically for step 1 studying--not high yield, not directed towards step 1, not as useful as RR Path.
