I'm trying to make sense of the AOA's [censored] requirements for CME.
Due to my wife's fellowship I live in an allopathic state, work at an allopathic institution and don't have access to any AOA teaching/lectures/grand rounds etc.
I read through the AOA 1A and 1B requirements which seem essentially unattainable from my position.
I'm hearing more and more that the ACOEP annual conference is the only way for someone like me to meet/get my annual 1A credit requirements.
I already have 47 AMA 1A credits from my ATLS and EM:RAP and will easily have over 50 AMA 1A credits by the end of this year.
These AMA credits will satisfy my state licensing requirements but not AOA in any way/shape/form correct?
Any other DO/AOA trained ER docs out there have creative ways to not be stuck attending ACOEP every year (I'd much rather go to ACEP and can't get off for both).
ideas? Thanks.
