Can someone help me figure out how to put in my AP credit into the course entry section? I am trying to put it in my transcript then specify later in the "Review and Finalize" step, but I don't know what grade to put. Thanks!

Put in the grade it shows on your transcript and mark "AP Credit" in the description box. Like my school does AP credit with a "K" so that's what was on my application.

Thank you so much! It worked!

Any idea what to put under the "credits" section?

I wanna know what you put in all of the boxes! Anyone know?
@nutelly : I just put Cred..but idk if thats correct

On my transcript my AP credit has no grade at all. What should I put on AACOMAS? If I write in 'none' will that be okay?

"Your grade is “CR” for “Credit.” If no course prefix or number is issued, you may put “N/A” for “Not Applicable.” You must list the individual courses credited to you if your transcript lists them separately. If your transcript does not break down the credit into individual courses and you know what these are, you may still break this down yourself as long as the credits add up to the correct lump sum indicated on the transcript."

Tacking onto this: do we break it down into AP courses (e.g. on AMCAS: "AP Credit: Biology") or into the courses the AP credit was awarded for (e.g. "Introductory Biology I and II")?

Just to emphasize the importance of checking your application once it is released to schools:
I followed the correct procedure for AP credits in AACOMAS last year and when my applications were delivered to all the schools it said I was missing 3 credits for Freshman English. Had to get a letter from my undergrad institution certifying the AP credits even though it was listed at the top of my transcript.

I would think the former. It would be incredibly difficult/time consuming to figure out which courses were equal to which APs. In Chemistry, it's more straightforward, but for something like AP Euro, can you imagine trying to go through and figure out the course that is equal in material and credits?

Yeah, that's true. My unofficial transcript actually does break it down into exact course equivalents but my official transcript just has them lumped into 20 credits' worth of AP transfer credits, so it sounds like it'd be easier for AACOMAS officials to just denote which AP exam the credit is coming from.

Does having AP credit actual have any value to one's application other than, yeah I get CR for this? The only thing I can think of is if you had AP english that could potentially mean one less semester of needing to take an english course but i thought schools require a course to be taken for there prereqs or recommended ones...

Whatever is on your transcript is what you would list. So if it says sometime like "intro to bio one" and "P" for pass put that there. If it's on your transcript as that put that. If it's there for two classes with a pass, but both.

But as go gonnif shard that thread I recommend giving it a good look over, I had many schools I discussed AP credit with and they won't accept them, as science credits toward pre reqs in particular. So if you have those credits be sure to check with where you're applying in particular and don't rely on others antidotal experiences.

Alternatively, would AACOMAS verify or add AP credit on my behalf just in case I somehow incorrectly input my AP credits? It is listed on my transcripts.
