So I finally hit a roadblock due to my AP credits. I came into undergrad with 24 credits from AP classes and did not know at the time that it would cause me trouble applying to health professions schools. My advisor at the time said it would be fine when applying.
Well, I just got an email from western saying that they would not be able to accept my AP chemistry credits. I am at a loss as to what to do now. I am going into my last semester of undergrad and do not have time to take gen chem before the end of spring 2013.
Also, I have already received interview invites from nycpm and kent state so I am not at a total loss but western was one of my top choices.
Any suggestions?

Did you check to see if these other schools accept ap credits? You should check before spending money going to these interviews. Admissions may have overlooked it. If western is the school you want to go to than you need to take a year off and take gen. chem. I'm assuming you live in cali, which is a lot nicer area.

I totally feel your pain; I had the same problem too. They wouldn't take my AP Chem either. I really wanted to curse them out about that. 😡

On the bright side, I did receive 7 interview invites and only 1 other rejection (DMU). Tomorrow I'm going to call DMU and ask about that. I don't think it has to do with AP Credits; it says in the AACPM Handbook that they do accept AP credits. Probably because of my below-average GPA/sGPA.

I'm not sure if you've seen this thread, but I became very wary of Western after reading it. Not sure if it's true, but just FYI. http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=945021
