I am applying this cycle and kind of in a dilemma. I was reading on the forums that some schools do not accept AP writing credits taken in high school as a prerequisite. I did take 1 semester's worth of writing class in addition to the writing classes for which i received credit..is that sufficient or do i need to take more writing classes to fulfill the "one year" aka 2 semesters? Also are the ap credits more based on the schools? Sorry just a little bit concerned since I will be applying this cycle.

I don't know if you're talking about the writing-intensive course or English courses. I thought you only needed 1 semester of a writing-intensive course in addition to 2 semesters of English.

For my English requirement, I used AP credit for one semester of English and took an English course during undergrad. It never came up.

hi there! thanks for the reply! by English do you mean like literature? i took one literature course and 1 writing course in addition to the AP credit for writing..so im assuming i should be good then also?

It depends on the school you're going to attend. You can't predict with certainty you will get into and attend a particular school. Wait until spring semester to take any missing prequistes. Most interviews are in the fall and cause grades to fall and more importantly no point in wasting money until you have heard back from a school.
