You convinced me man. I have seen the lightbox........
When I was a premed reading this forum Apache Indian almost had me going into Rads too.
Lol, you too. I'm a premed [recently accepted] I hope Rads is really as good as Apache Indian makes it sound. lol, and I wanted to be a surgeon before... pffffft like thats any kind of life.
Wouldn't it be funny if Apache Indian wasn't even a radiologist?
apache, you speak words of wisdom, IMan that's funny. You should have been a stand up comedian.
The point really isn't whether I'm "real" or not. In reading my posts one can adopt one of two stances:
1. Write-off everything I've said I've done (which I find a bit suprising is so unbelievable to you) as fictitous and impossible.
If you accept this point of view you can accept mediocrity without hurting your own ego. "After all, Apache is FOS and doing anything more than what I'm doing is impossible, so I might as well just chill out."
2. Assume what I have said to be true (whether it is true or not is irrelevant) -- maybe even let yourself be a bit inspired by it -- study harder, set goals higher, sacrifice, and strive to excel/exceed me and others. Say to yourself "Heck if that goof-off Apache can do it I can too! I can do it better than him!"
So put aside for one second the question of whether I'm real or an imposter. Which stance do you think is more conducive to your success in life?
I say be wary of the naysayers -- there are a lot of mediocre people in this world -- those who like to keep others down with them at the proletariat level. DO NOT listen to them. Strive to EXCEL and EXCEED and WIN. You only live once people...

Err... I thought it was blatantly obvious that I'm real -- that's why I didn't/don't feel the need to make such a declaration -- simply put I would feel extremely silly doing such a thing.
But for the naysayers out there: I AM REAL. hehe You don't believe it? Fine, I could care two hoots what you believe and what you don't -- have a nice, average life.
apacheindian that was impressive. "hoi polloi"...i haven't heard that since AP English way back in the day. 👍
Premeds and med students: Contrary to popular belief, brown-nosing, or performing simulated sexual acts on radiology residents on an anonymous forum does not help you get into a radiology residency.
Man you have no idea how tough it is for me to resist these 5K weekends and instead study for these stupid boards -- I feel like I'm flushing money down the toilet... but alas, a little delayed gratification is needed right now -- it's crunch time. But have no fear, I have some schweeet gigs lined up for right after I take my exam -- stuff that'll make the work I've done so far look like child's play. Stay tuned
I apreciate your honesty so I'll ask this questions (hope you answer with the truth like allways): Is there another motivation in your life besides money? Do you have any other interests or pasions?
Good luck with those gigs, man.
Hello Everyone,
Im finnishing my aa and I have finally chosen a career path, and that's in RAD.,
The question is basic, I enjoyed reading film in the Navy along side MD's, and I hear its good paying field where right now you almost make your own way.
Heres my approach, go to school, become radiologist, because it gives you the most money for your education, and the field is in high demand.
Can anyone give me insight on the hours worked, the quality of life, the responsibility, the ins and outs of the field.
I live in Tampa, FL and Im hoping to go to Univ South Fl, for Med school, and SPC for my premed (I hope to have my AA by the summer).
Bad idea. Bad. Bad. Bad.
There are much quicker and cost-effective ways to make money. Paying for 4 years of medical school with a sole field in mind is not one of them.
Of course I do!
Women and supercars
Supercars go down in value every year s/p purchase
Women who love you for money are a "dime a dozen," please pardon the pun.
🙂
Sooo...tell me bigfrank...aren't you one of those rads residents living 1980's/Wall Street style??? How come??? You should be grabing the big bucks too!! That's the good stuff!!
No, seriously, money isn't the most important thing in the world but if I had to make a choice between different jobs, I would DEFINETLY consider it, and I mean it.
🙂
I choose NOT to discuss my finances on an internet message board. But, if I did choose to, I would DEFINITELY spell correctly.
😉
ooohhh -- BigFrank... Mr. Maturity -- we should all learn a lesson from him
(hehe -- what a joke)
All specialties, including the ones that generally have the more laid-back practictioners like rads and gas -- are gonna have their Mr. Rogers types like BigFrank. Nothing wrong with that. Remember, by definition, most people are average. Resale value and "true motivation" for women??? HAHA, that's classic haha!
I suppose if I were stuck in the piney woods, I too, might be fantasizing about cars and women just to help me get through the day.
I'm in the Los Angeles area and fantasizing about the women I'm going to try to hit on this weekend is about the only thing that gets me threw my internship. That and the fact I get to do what I really enjoy in few more months.

Not gonna waste time on losers.
Remember people: the bourgeois always criticize the elite. The elite ignore them as they have better things to do. Do I respond to vagabonds yelling obscenities to me on the steet? Of course not. You have to decide for yourself: Are you gonna be a member of the proletariat or are you gonna be a star? You can either sit around and make excuses why you can't do this or that, or you can simply go out and make things happen, come hell or high water. The choice is yours.

you are my hero, apache! 😍
you say what many people think but don't have the onions to say
MAN CRUSH!!! 😱
Not that there's anything wrong with that.
What do an army recruiter and a used car salesmen have in common? They'll tell you exactly what you want to hear and nothing that you don't want to hear. Sometimes they exaggerate.
And when in reality the things being said aren't so rosy, some people don't have the onions to listen.
And what exactly does apache have to sell here, on an anonymous internet board?MAN CRUSH!!! 😱

Doublecortin et al:
Don't pay any attention to geeks like BigFrank and Hans -- while it's true that in general radiology is a specialty of amiable, laid-back personalities, unfortunately it still is medicine, and we still have our share of dweebs. While we used to make fun of them, throw spitballs at them, and put "Kick Me" signs on their backs in junior high, we should probably just ignore them now.
wow!😱 why be such a hater?👎apache_indian!!
Go poor, rural SE radiologist that needs to brag to medical students on anonymous message board!!!
You have conquered all and deserve all!!!!
Not bad for a Caribbean medical school grad with an inferiority complex!!!!! I know the big, prestigious groups love those types!!!
🙂
