For all of you intensivists out there, do you actually compute/think about APACHE scores of the patients in the ICU or is this pure an administrative audit? In other words, do APACHE scores influence care at all in the clinical setting?

Thanks.

we run an APACHE score on anyone we're thinking about prescribing xigris on, but other than that, not so much at least at my program

The Apache HTTP Server, commonly referred to simply as Apache, is a web server notable for playing a key role in the initial growth of the World Wide Web.

. Honestly the change or lack of change in apache scores predict worse outcome than the number itself on day of admission.

I never use it on a daily basis. its more useful to see how your ICU is performing versus others.
