I am registered for the upcoming combined AP/CP boards, but have decided i want to take CP only now and AP in the future. It is too late to cancel, and it is not allowed to cancel only one portion of it anyway. I am wondering what will happen if I dont show up at the AP portion but take the CP half? Will that show as a fail, or as a non appear, or in some other way?

You'd be better off reading the ABP site. I think you might be able to change your plans but it's going to cost you. And no, you can't show up and say you are taking only one of the tests, the other would be a fail and lost $$$.

You need to read the ABP site.

If you're even remotely prepared for AP though I would just take it. You've already paid for it. You may surprise yourself and pass both on the first attempt.

Seriously consider it before you do it...........AP is the easier of the two........ or it feels easier........WASHINGTON MANUAL of surgical pathology is all you need to know (plus pictures which obviously arent in the book)
