Hi
What helped me, is to understand that broca is anatomically near the primary motor cortex (broca is part of the motor associated area or premotor cortex in the frontal lobe) and wernicke close to the primary sensory area.
Here is the anatomical drawing, which you can find in every textbook:
And here you can see the notes from my summary:
Lets make a little example. If you would show your patient the following picture, how would he or she describe it?
Broca:
Man…Camera..Street in motion… umm…
Wernicke:
Man is here standing in line with other people and photographere are looking. He has shouted with his photographers yesterday.
