Your mailbox was full, so here's my reply.
No problem whatsoever 🙂 Sorry, I didnt quite get to finish my reply to that thread, which was along the lines of "and my school doesnt even offer the OPTION of taking the Hippocratic Oath". 🙂
My perception of divinity is basically this: Think of a mirror/disco ball. It's one ball, right? But it has an infinite number of facets or faces (well, not really, but for the puposes of this discussion). IMO, Christians see this "Ball" as having 3 faces - the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost (and in Catholicism, maybe Mary, the Saints and the Archangels). I see all the facets as equally valid God-figures - whether that be the Trinity, the Celtic pantheon, the Greco-Roman pantheon, Egyptian, etc. Many pagans do not share this view - we are very very very diverse. Many people see each God or Goddess as a separate entity, I just disagree. After all, the Divine is omnipresent, omnipotent, and omniscent, right?
When I pray, I sometimes pray to "the Divine" but that's kind of overwhelming to my human mind - so often, Ill pray to a specific GOd or Goddess - Bast is one of the ones I pray to the most - the Egyptian Goddess with two faces, one cat, one lion - she represents the sun, the moon, music, the mother...etc.
LOL and dont worry about offending me - my parents thought they were raising a nice good little Presybterian child (sunday school, church, youth group, I even TAUGHT sunday school), and I think they may actually still be in denial that I started researching other religions at the age of 8 and told them about it a 16. Apparantly 8 years later it's still a "phase". I must say, though< I do miss the public acceptance, regular gatherings/group worship and community support, but IMO, church isnt a social event, its about your relationship with the Divine.
Ok that was really long. What denomination are you?
