I wouldn't take the situation quite so lightly. The OP has said they had trouble when applying to undergrad, and I'm sure Irish people have applied there as well.
Anyway, I'm married, and I morphed into two people at one of my schools and it was a bit of a hassle to work out. I would make sure that you keep an eye on things and make noise if it isn't right. Also be very careful of your financial aide, because it is way easier than you'd think to morph into two people there too, even with your social security number on things.
