App Date and Start date

Simple Question.

I Have yet to take my OAT, and I am one class short of most of the Optometry schools prereqs (I think St. Louis is the only one that doesn't require it--Thoughts on that?)

Anywho, From what I have read, the first day you can submit your application to any school is July 15, and the first day of classes is around the mid-end of August? So, that's only 1 months between application and classes? Seems short too me, but I'm probably just confused. Please enlighten. thank you.

No...... you're applying for the FOLLOWING year. EX: Apply July 15, 2010 for classes that begin in August/Sept. of 2011. This allows for people to interview, finish classes in progress, take the OATs, get LORs, transcripts, and shadowing/volunteering done.
