With some new faces and a lot more "advice on where to apply" questions popping up in the Pre-Allopathic Forum, I thought I'd take the 4-month anniversary of http://mdapplicants.com/ to make another post about it.

For those of you not familiar with the site, mdapplicants.com is a searchable database of profiles of prior medical school applicants, with complete demographic and statistical background information as well as their entire list of applications and final dispositions. I hope this site may be a useful resource to pre-medical students during their decision-making process this summer.

I would just like to make one more appeal to the current medical students in this forum to contribute this year at a time when it will be of use to the greatest number of current applicants. Thanks to everyone who has already contributed!

Current Site Stats:
The site indexes 543 profiles, with an average overall GPA of 3.62, science GPA of 3.58, and MCAT score of 31.6. The average applicant is 23.6 years old, applied to 13.9 schools, was invited to 6.2 interviews, and received 2.4 acceptances. Since the launch of this site on January 9th, 2003, there have been 30,329 visitors and 125,869 searches performed.

Thank you for bringing this site to the attention of the people who don't read the Pre-Allo forum. I never would have learned about it and been able to contribute if you hadn't posted here.

Again, apologies. The postings are worded differently, and each forum is a separate, valid audience to inform and request contributions from.

I was actually totally kidding on the TOS violation. I guess I need to work on my sarcasm. There's a poster out there who thinks I download tons of "interesting pictures" to be sure the kids can't get it off the internet.

When you ask about age on your site, does that mean the age we were when we applied or the age we are now?

I think it should be the age at which you applied.

As for ethnicity...that field is a mess of sorts. I'm not entirely clear on teh race/ethnicity distinction.
