Hi there!

Your advice please...

I currently have an overall 3.53 gpa at a Cal State. I am ready to send in my application except a counselor had recommended I wait until my spring semester grades have been submitted in hopes of boosting my gpa. The classes I have in progress are:

Embryo lecture + lab
Microbiology lecture + lab
Physics II lecture
Political Sci
Child Language Development
Health Science

Grades will be posted by June 15 even though this currently is finals week.

well i think that's a pretty solid gpa to begin with. how are you doing in classes currently? how much would it raise your gpa by? it honestly depends on that to see if it's worth waiting. so i'd say do the gpa calculations and see where it puts you. plus there's also the risk that if you wait, and your gpa goes slightly down, then it might not be so great to wait.

hope that helps, good luck

What is your DAT score? 3.5 gpa is pretty solid for many schools. If you have a decent dat score, then I would definitely just apply now. Classes you are taking right now is not even a prereq, and it wouldn't raise your gpa to a significant degree i think (i'd assume you're a senior). So, my recommendation is apply early. 🙂
