Hello! I'm planning on applying to optometry school this summer and I'm a bit worried. I started off undergrad very very strong but junior year took a toll on me. My recent grades are unimpressive. My average for the year is a 2.5. I'm not going to go into details as to why but long story short I will have to repeat a course (or two). Despite this, my gpa is still not terrible (3.35). I believe that I'm capable in doing well on the OAT especially if spend the summer studying. The rest of my application I'd say is pretty solid. Should I apply anyway or take a gap year?

Thank you for any advice you have to give!

Apply, do well on the OAT.....and make sure your extra curricular are strong as well one bad year with explanation shouldn't be a huge issue but be ready to have an explanation for it as it may come up in interviews and you want to be able to explain it without fumbling, be honest and confident when explaining. Best of luck!!!
