Hey y'all, just thought I'd share an experience with you all that slowed down my application process.

I took the OAT on October 15th and a number of schools still haven't received my scores. I was aware of this 2 weeks ago and called the OAT office and was told scores take 2-3 week to get out (so I didn't worry at that point). Getting impatient like I do I emailed schools I applied to and asked if they had received my scores. A few still hadn't. A shout-out to SCO for being on the ball and noticing that my scores are under my name in the reverse order (meaning my first name is said to be my last and vice versa). Now that we've gotten that all figured out schools are finding my scores and I'm trying to get the OAT peeps to fix it.

Luckily I caught it soon and some of the schools have been great at communicating with me. Maybe I screwed up, the testing center, or the OAT people did, either way it would've slowed my application process down if it hadn't been caught.

Moral of the story, don't be afraid to be in contact with the schools if you haven't heard anything.

The same exact thing happened to me and when I called the OAT people to fix it, they were less than helpful. Luckily, I also caught it early enough for it not to affect the timing of my application. For other applicants, I'd suggest calling the schools directly and they'll be happy to put your 'reversed name' scores in your file, instead of trying to change it through OAT. It's not worth the aggravation. 🙂
