Hello everyone!

Like the rest of you non-traditional pre-meds, I have a long and convoluted path. What are different perspectives on using these consulting companies to help make a concise narrative for our longer histories than our traditional competition for a seat in a medical program?

I don't know of anyone who has used one, nor would I, for 3 reasons: A) Your school should/will offer these types of services through pre-health office, B) There are so many free resources through YouTube, school websites, SDN, etc. C) These are for-profit services who are basically being paid to regurgitate information from the 2 sources above, and probably don't actually care what happens to you once the paypal clears. If they do care to follow up? They'll tell you to buy more services.

So, the answer, bluntly is: if you're cut out for the intensive research and application of medical school, you're certainly qualified to carve the path yourself with the help of free resources. Just my 2 cents, not bashing these services. Save the $$$ for the application process 🙂

^^^What 8YearsLate said. Plenty of good free advice available here (and possibly at your former university). If you use a paid consulting service, you may feel that you NEED to do what they tell you. And won't you always wonder if you could have been successful on your own?
