so it took AACOM forever (7 weeks!) to verify and deliver my app, which finally went out christmas eve believe it or not. i dont know why it took so long, my transcripts were there before I even submitted it.
i know that was like 3 weeks ago. i am just finishing up 2 secondaries to PCOM and UMDNJ which will go out next week.(does NYCOM have one?)

i was just wondering how long it took for the schools to contact you post-secondary. i guess i am sort of looking for a timeline, they really ease the nerves!
thanks guys

I have yet to hear from PCOM, which is fine because I found out I hate Philly when I had my interview at Drexel. PCOM is the only DO school that hasn't been in touch with me since they got my secondary back 8/21/2003.

umdnj takes about a month (for me at least) to contact you after you send in the secondary.

when i interviewed there (very nice campus and facilities btw **n' affordable rent in the surrounding area), an admissions officer explained the interviewing process to us. apparently, the entering class size is about 80 students, and they take in alot of out-of-staters. Also, if you get an interview at the school, you're as good as accepted. They supposedly reject very few students. In order to be rejected, you'd have to have really bombed the interview. They give you a certain number of points for your undergrad school, gpa, major, mcat, and interview. if you reach the first cut-off, you'll be granted an interview. after the interview (mad relaxed), you're given some more points..and if you reach the second cut-off..you're accepted.

hope that helps.

PCOM was fairly quick in getting an interview for me. after the interview is unfortunately when you had to wait a few weeks. the adcom only meets once a month, and i interviewed there the day after they met so it took 3-4 weeks. but, all in all, it's good. 3 schools i mailed apps to in sept still haven't sent me anything regarding an interview, decline or accept, or just processing! oh well, PCOM is where i wanted. and for not liking philly, how? you had access to absolutely anything you could possibly want. arts, theaters, food, bars, music, rotating thru amazing hospitals, philly always is recognizing as having some of the top docs in the country, etc. and philly is famous for having mass amounts of $$. (just check out the main line). the hospitals are incredible, technology available is amazing, the list just goes on and on. i know philly isn't the most desirable place to live if you don't like cities, but the suburbs are awesome too. and just think of the opportunities available to you being educated in the 5th (??) largest city in the country, jobs/connections/etc......
