Application Fee and DAT questions

G'day,

I am a Texas resident, so I have already applied through tmdsas to the texas schools but im finishing up my aadsas app for out of state schools.

For the application fees, there is the aadsas fees for submitting the app. I guess I just figured this was the application fee but it seems I was wrong. Do I have to pay the aadsas fee AND pay each individual school I apply to?

Also for the DAT, do I need to report my scores to EACH individual school somehow? Or is the score reported through AADSAS enough?

"The ADEA AADSAS processing fee is $244 for the first dental school, and $90 for each additional school."
these are the instructions from the website.

For DAT, as long as you assigned one school you receive your scores, it should be enough.

Yeah I understand this fee. I'm asking if I have to pay the school separately from the AADSAS fee you just mentioned. I ask because I was looking at the Maryland dental school website and it says an $85 application fee is required. Is this $85 in addition to the 244 + 90 fee I would pay through AADSAS?

Each school has their own individual application fee that is paid directly to each school. This additional fee is separate from the AADSAS fee which is strictly for handling/processing of your application.

Oh okay. You are talking about the supplementary fees and secondaries.

Yes there are some stuff you have to do after you e-submit. It depends on the school. You should google "aadsas supplementary application"

Yes, this fee is extra to AADSAS fee. Md also requests you pay this fee at the same time you are submitting AADSAS. You can pay online. The Supplemental Information link on your AADSAS page links you to the dental school. Under UMd, this is what appears:

"Special information from this dental school:

Send these materials directly to the dental schools at the same time you send ADEA AADSAS materials:

· Application fee $85 (please refer to http://www.dental.umaryland.edu/admissions/adm_new/dds_guidelines.html for details)."

I paid the fee via the link and UMd already sent me an email saying "your application is complete and is being forward to committee for review. This is before AADSAS "mailed" my app out. AADSAS told me my app will be mailed 2 weeks from now. UMd is on the ball! Hurray, my number one top choice.
