When I registered for the OAT through ASCO, I had originally selected 4 schools. They said that the first 5 schools selected are included in the application fee, and additional schools more than 5 or adding more schools AFTER the OAT is another $25/school. I'm thinking of applying to 3 schools instead of my original 4 schools. Do you know if I will be charged the supplemental fees from my 4th school even though I will not be submitting my application?

This optometry application is getting expensive! 🙁 Thanks in advance!!!

Well if schools 1-5 are free, and you only used up 4...then no, you will not be charged.

If you're talking about the supplemental fee that the SCHOOL charges, then you should remove the school from your optomCAS application because sometimes the school will chose to collect their supplemental fees via optomCAS. Other times they collect it separately, but you don't want to pay the optomCAS fee for the school AND the supplemental fee if you don't think want to apply there. You can always add more schools later.

If you want to apply to 3 OTHER schools instead of the original 4.. you're going to need to go to the ASCO website to request that your OAT scores be sent to the schools you want.

If you have already taken the OAT, it's going to cost you $25 for each school you want your scores sent to.
You then have to pay for the optomcas fee AND supplemental fees for those schools.
