I submitted my application today, however AMCAS has not received my transcripts yet and has placed my application on hold. Will this negate the effects of applying earlier (relative to when my transcripts would be received) i.e. would it be like I submitted my application on the date when AMCAS receives my transcripts?

Hope this make sense...basically want to know if being placed on hold affects your chances.

Your effective submission date will be when your transcripts are received, unfortunately--that's when you join the queue. When did you send them in? Pretty much everyone agrees that if you join the queue in june, you're still in a good position, and others say even july 4th is still ideal. You should be fine! Just start prewriting your secondaries so you can have a quick turn around time for those! The date that your primary is in doesn't really matter--it's the date that your secondaries are completed that's key. So just focus on what you still have in your control, and you'll be fine! Good luck!
