I checked my status at the University of the Pacific this past weekend and I noticed that my status has been updated to "on hold". In the comments section it says that they are waiting for new DAT scores.

I am writing the DAT in November and I am wondering whether the consequences will be for me at U of P if they do not receive my DAT scores until mid-to-end of December? Do you think this automatically will ruin all chances I have at U of P? Or would I still have a chance, although I wouldn't be in the first round?

Any input is appreciated.

Why dont you call the school and talk to someone about it. They'll answer your question better than we may be able to. GL

hey since u are already "on hold" can u answer this question? Mine still says App processing and LoRs NOT received even thought it was sent from AADSAS. I am thinking about giving them a call. Is it normal? should I really wait 4-6 weeks? I submitted mine on 7/7

Having your file completed in mid-December at a school which at that time will probably have a full/nearly full class doesn't bode too well to me.

Hi trident007, UoP offers few interview invites, but they always offer some after December 1st (my guess is half? edit: armorshell knows better than I, it prob will be close to full). If you're really concerned, change the DAT date (this is easy to do) to take it earlier, so there would be time for UoP to receive the scores before December 1st (though don't do this if you'd get a lower DAT because of it, they are really big into high DAT). Since high DAT is one of the things they look for, it makes sense that you are currently on hold.

sl2obel2ts, you don't need to worry at all. They do not update that until they actually look at your file, chances are that they have all of your letters and your file is complete, but the UoP status page is notoriously slow at updating, so you have no reason to worry. I heard that they will start reviewing late August/early September, so expect your status to be updated around that time, though perhaps a little bit after that since your application was sent in July.

Why are you taking the DAT in November? That seems like poor planning, no matter which schools are on your list.

I unfortunately cannot take it any earlier due to circumstances out of my control.

I have taken the DAT before though (resulted in average scores mostly) and I have already been offered interviews for this cycle at a few other schools based on my current DAT scores.. but I guess at schools like U of P where the DAT is more important they want to wait for the newest scores? 😕

sl2obel2ts, I wouldn't worry about it.

Mine also said that my LOE's were not received and then one day my status changed to "on hold" and it showed my letters were received.

My AADSAS was sent out 6/16 with all of the LOEs already in my application.

Oh, sorry, I didn't realize that this will be your second DAT. If the circumstances that are preventing you from retaking the DAT in November are out of your control then I wouldn't worry about it. Just do the best you can when you retake. Do your schools know that you have scheduled a retake? or are they evaluating you based on last year's scores?

Hey that's okay, I appreciate the reply nonetheless. I am not totally sure which DAT score is being looked at. I indicated on my AADSAS application that I would be re-taking my DAT in November, but I also indicated my previous DAT scores and had those DAT scores sent to the schools I applied to.

So far Pacific is the first school that seems to be waiting for the new scores... I don't know if that will be the trend? I hope not though :luck:.. but I don't really know how it works.
