Hello everybody
I have been reading from this site for about 2years now and it seems to have very good information. I am in the process of applying to dental school and i would like some advice from some of you who have probably been through some of the things i will be going through soon. To cut the long story short, i am working on my masters in Bio and i should be done in the spring. By the end of this summer i will have 5-6 classes done and i would like to apply to dental school. I am doing well so far A and B's ( gpa 3.3) however my undergrad wasn't so good i had a 2.6 gpa and i am sure much lower sci gpa.I even went through som probation. I have attempted the dat once like 2years ago and did not do well (~14 ave) I wan't to try to take it after a taking a course with Kaplan by the end of July. I have shadowed 2 dentists for like 5yrs and i have always worked full time to pay for my school. Do you have any advice for me? Maybe what schools i should try to apply to and what i should target to score on DAT's? and any general advice towards my application process?

Good luck! I would advise you to quit everything else for about a month and study for the DAT full time. If you get awesome scores (over 20s) then it will help compensate for your GPA. I'm not familiar with the Kaplan course, what helped me was practice tests and the text books. I went over the sections on every question I missed and became familiar with all the material.
