Application question: extracurricular activity

Hi guys,
I am filling out application right now. I am kind of confused whether I can include these two works in my extra. acitivities:
1) I have a single parent, my mom; and my siblings are younger than me. My mom applied for a low income house and we have to build that home by ourselves on the supervisor's instructions. He was teaching us everything. I used to go there on Saturday and Sunday w/ my brother to help him out bcz we have to work there 40hrs/ week. I helped my brother as well as other guys whoever building their houses in chores like hammering nails, moving wooden blocks, cutting woods acc. to size w/ skill saw, etc. I went there for one and half year on weekands to help building my home, so can I include this?
2) My brother now owns a liquor store in partnership w/ one another guy, now I help him in stocking, cleaning, paper work, etc. during weekands. So, can I include this in extracurricular activities?
I appreciate if you guys will response me early.

1) That sounds like an interesting story and is probably something you could mention in your extracurricular activities section.
2) This should probably be included in the employment section rather than extracurriculars.

I think you can put it as volunteer activity.
