Application Question--please read

Hi All....

I am just wondering if it is too late to apply. I see that I need to have my application submitted and my transcripts postmarked by Feb 1. However AACOMAS says that it takes 4-6 weeks to process applications. This would put me either over or right at the supplemental deadlines (Mar 1, or Mar 15) for all of my schools.

I guess what I am asking is.....do schools receive the primary as soon as it is submitted or not until it is verified. Is it still worth submitting NOW? I dont want to spend my money if it will end up that I wont get any supplementals because my primary app has not been verified.

If anyone can answer this question I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

unfortunately the consensus will probably be no. many people applied back in june, or at the latest october with august MCAT's. please take no offense, but it sounds like you haven't gotten into any MD's schools, and are now applying to DO's as your backup.

if you have a DO letter, you may be better off if you decide to apply. on the other hand, touro-harlem just opened its app, so i think you could definitly apply there and stand a chance.

At this point, I think you would be better off waiting three months and getting started on next year's apps. You stand a MUCH better chance if you apply that early rather than this late.
