I am sort of in a pickle. Right now I have 2.88, but in December I will have a 3.2 something (with the retakes I am taking).

I want to apply to every DO school, but some I know off the bat, a few will not even send me secondaries because I do not meet their status quo.

This is what I was thinking of doing, and was wondering if it is even entirely possible.

1. I want to send all the schools that will send me secondaries my application as it is right now
2. In December I will will update my aacomas (hoping you can do so) and send my newly verified app to those schools with the stricter requirements
3. I will also send transcripts to the schools that I applied to now (august)

Is it possible to send transcripts to aacomas and update grades after you have verified your application?
Have you or anyone you known been rejected before December? I am worried that the schools I am applying to now are going to reject me off the bat and I want them to wait to make their decision until they see my December grades.

I don't know about rejecting you, but you can update your grades by simply sending in an updated transcript.

you could try calling the places that you aren't sure about to see what they would do or if they would encourage you to apply after fall semester grades!

a) Yes
b) Yes, many people can/do get rejected way before December. Sometimes they'll waitlist you or you can ask them to hold your application until December so that your grades will update, but you will be facing an uphill battle. Usually around January/February, a lot of people that haven't heard back from any/many MD schools panic and begin to apply to DO. Also there will be significantly less seats available around January.

I would say just hold off entirely and apply next year with a higher GPA and as early as possible. The key is applying early (especially since a 3.2 isn't exactly extraordinary); however, a GPA below a 3.0 (especially that low) will get you waitlisted and rejected almost everywhere.

Since you dont mention mcat you either have a mediocre one or dont have one yet.....just wait a year to apply
