I received, what I believe, automatic messages from a couple of programs stating that my app was received and wil be reviewed....etc. Are such messages of any value?

They are worth absolutely NOTHING! Except to say that these programs acknowledge us and usually are the ones that keep us up to date...

Most of my prorgams have downloaded my application, but very few have sent me a recepit message. Are we supposed to get a receipt from all the programs that download our application?

I've received only 1 out of like a gazillion programs I applied to. While they are likely worthless, I TOTALLY appreciate them telling us they have received it and will review it. I think most if not ALL programs should do this. We spend time and LOTS of money to apply, at least a common courtesy of replying (even with a generic message) is nice. If I ever get an interview from that program, given how they've kept me up to speed on stuff, I'm more likely to see them in a positive light.

I totally agree! I also have received only 1 acknowledgment of receipt message, and I applied to about 30 programs, so currently this program is my favorite. Being organized and responsive is definitely an indicator of things to come (and vice versa).

Well I applied to 105 programs and I have not received any acknowledgment letters, so should I be worried? Most have downloaded my application already.

Jesus Christ. What are you going into?

How'd you manage to come up with so many LORs?? I had enough for 2 specialties, the personal statements weren't really all that tough for me. I only applied to 10 programs for the backup specialty though.

In my previous reply I was referring to the OP that applied to 105 programs. lol.
