I did not file my application with my school's health professions office. I did everything myself.
Can I still give permission for AADSAS to release selected info to my advisor?

Advisor Release Statement
I give permission for ADEA AADSAS to release selected information about the status of my ADEA AADSAS application to the chief health professions advisor and the health professions advisory committee of the post-secondary institution(s) I have attended. By releasing this information, advisors are better able to assist applicants in the application process and advise applicants in the future. Applicants cannot make changes to this item after submitting your application to AADSAS.

It doesn't matter. It just gives non-personal info about applicants to advisors.

So.. since I am not using my health profession's office..
should I choose "give permission" or "don't give permission" ?

Doesn't matter either way. This is for info to advisors so they know what students are or are not accepted. This has nothing to do with your app.

If you decide to keep your info off limits you should hope you will not need to seek out your health professions adviser.

What does that mean??
So, it's better to not give permission?

Like everyone else has said, it doesn't matter. The release is just to let your school keep track of how their applicants are doing. It does not impact your application whether or not you release that information to your advisor since you do not work directly with them.
