Application sent just waiting on DAT

So I submitted my AADSAS application back in early June and the dental schools have already recieved the mailed copies. So all I need to complete my app is DAT scores which I don't plan on taking until mid August.

My question is how long will it take for the dental schools to receive my official score report from the ADA? I guess I'm getting a little worried that I'll be at a disadvantage since I've been reading about people already receiving interview invites in the pre-dent forum.

have you already sent in the application checks to the individual schools?

I know people (my brother included) that sent in an "unofficial" score of their DAT just to get a little more ahead of the gang

also, everyone here is the minority! Most people probably haven't even taken the DAT probably. You are not late at all!!!!!!

Yea I'm in the same boat. I turned in my application May 30th and have all my stuff turned in except that I haven't taken the DAT. I'm scheduled for Aug 24th. So I'll be faxing my scores to the schools I applied to. I spoke to the Dean of Admissions at UMD and she said they don't even look at applications until Sept 1st and she recommended that I just study more and wait to take it.

Yeah I prepping with the same mentality. If for some reason as I approach my date I don't feel prepared I'll push it back to the end of august, seeing as I heard it's better to nail it the first time. I'm prepping hard though so I hope that that isn't necessary. Good luck on your test though.

Hi,

I found out that there's a huge diff. b/w the American version of DAT and the Canadian DAT. There's no math - no org. chem in the CND DAT but there's a carving section. If I want to apply to American dental schools, I don't know if they accept CND DAT :S Does it depend on the schools?
