Hey guys I'm back! I know I haven't been around much since I took my DAT, but anyway, I have a question.
How much better is it to apply right at the beginning of June compared to applying in the middle? I don't think it should be much of a difference at all since either would be early, but I'm just asking just in case. The reason is that I asked one of my professors to write a LOR for me and she said she would but might not have the time to do it until mid-June. Should I ask another teacher so I can get it done faster or is mid-June ok?

(Also, does anyone know how many LORs most schools need from teachers? Right now I have 2 from professors and one from a dentist.)

You can turn in the app without the Letters - you just put the professor's info into AADSAS and she can send it in any time after that.

Also, you can't submit your app until the review process or your transcripts is complete, and that can take up to a month - so no one will actually be submitting their applications on June 1st.

And yes, two SCIENCE professors and a dentist should cover you at most of the schools. Though some schools like UNLV want 4 letters.

Thanks Vic, and I'm glad to see you're still around the site 🙂
You wouldn't happen to know how many letters the texas schools require specifically, would you? I couldn't find it online.

Hehe, always happy to help. I'm an officer of my schools pre-dental club so I'm used to answering all these questions!

As far as Texas, are you a resident of Texas? If so, I think you need to do TMDAS (or whatever the Texas version of AADSAS is). If you aren't a Texas resident, there is really no reason to apply to those schools because they take like one out of stater a year.

As far as their LOR requirements, just check the schools websites... lets see....

Baylor seems to be weird and need special evaluation forms... not totally sure how they work, but see here:

Good luck!

PS. I saw the tuition ... WOW I wish I was a texas resident... 22k for ALL FOUR YEARS.

Yeah I am a Texas resident. Tuition is pretty nice haha 🙂
