ok...do you have to apply to ALL the schools you are interested in at the SAME time?? or can you apply at different times?

Basically, I want to apply to some schools in June and some schools in August. This is only because of updated GPA reasons.

Anybody know??

You can do it either way and if I remember correctly there is no price difference. I added 2 schools after sending in my application because I was short on cash at the time.

If you do decide to add on schools at a later time, make sure you are calling AACOMAS weekly to make sure that the changes went through. They have a tendency to lose things/do things a lot slower than is necessary.

If you do only have mediocre grades...but are planning on retaking some...would this be a recommended approach? Or would applying early and broadly still be your best bet? Thanks!

It is tempting to apply to all the schools you can afford to apply to but keep a few things in mind when you are deciding where to apply....

1. Check out the school website thoroughly!
2. Check out the city and the housing costs
3. Check out the area and see if you would be happy there for 4 years.
4. Check out weather.com and such websites for the weather in the area. If you are a southern person that hates snow dont apply to northern schools and vice versa.
5. Check out area attractions for your time off. If you love to snow ski, a Florida school is probably not going to make you happy in your off time.
6. If you have families then check out the schools and the availablity of jobs for your spouses.

Do all these things before you spend the money to send in your applications. I applied to some schools that I later thought.. "that was crazy. I would never be happy there." But it is something about applying that makes people get nervous and apply to all the schools they can to increase their chances.

I applied to 2 DO schools and then added 3 more a month later. It can be done that way.

And always APPLY AS EARLY AS YOU CAN!!!!!!!

Good luck

If you are waiting to apply so that your new grades will come through and your gpa will look better when the "August" schools see them, I do not think that is a good plan. First of all, you are more that welcome to tell schools that you will have updated grades shortly and that they will be good, and also, any advantage that you might realize by waiting to apply with a stronger GPA will be lost due to your delay in application submission. I just mean that if you consider the disadvantage of waiting to turn in you app versus that of slightly lower grades, the trade off isnt worth it.

Apply to them all as soon as you can.
