I am in the process of starting a post-bacc program to raise my GPA. Given I do really well on the DAT by late august, should I submit my application in august and update schools in december when post-bacc grades are out? I'll take 15 credits per semester during the post-bacc and I'm pretty sure I can score a 3.7+ (I say this because I'll be a pharmd. drop out soon who is in the top 10% of his class; I've aced most of the science classes in pharmacy school my first year). Or would I need to wait until next summer and apply for the class of 2019? Also, would it be a better idea to go to a international dental school and come back and do a program in the states. Any advice would be helpful.

cGPA: 2.6
sGPA: 2.0

With GPAs that low, I would've chosen to pursue a Masters. A post-bac program will not significantly increase your GPA given how many units you've completed. It'll be hard to even reach the minimum requirements of a lot of schools so just take your time and KILL the DAT (23+) and apply next year (you can apply this cycle to get familiar with the whole app but chances are you won't get in imo).

I think you're making a big mistake. You should stay in pharmacy school imo. With a sGPA of 2.0, you need to ace pretty much every single science class from here on out to even have a chance of getting in anywhere. Equally important, what about the debt? I assume you have undergrad debt, debt from graduate school, and will be taking on debt whether you do a postbach or masters. Then there's the debt of dental school assuming you get in. We're probably talking about over half a million at a minimum. What are you going to do if you don't get in with that kind of debt? Don't take this personally, but I'd hate for you to go down this path, hit a dead end, and not be able to run back to pharmacy. You're already pretty much set for life. Why throw it all away?

this post is a joke...right?
