Although it is late, are there schools worth applying to (have a chance at for next fall) if taking the January MCAT?
Thanks!🙂
Sure, there are some schools that will take the January MCAT. Go ahead and get you AACOMAS app submitted with a planned MCAT date.
Check the CIB for which schools accept the Jan MCAT before you waste your time though.Although it is late, are there schools worth applying to (have a chance at for next fall) if taking the January MCAT?

What is the "CIB", and where on it can I find the list of schools that take the January test?

The CIB is the College Information Book that is published by AACOM that is a listing of every osteopathic medical school and a bunch of information/statistics about them. It is similar to the MSAR book published by the AAMC for M.D. schools but it is free and you can download it from http://www.aacom.org/resources/bookstore/cib/Pages/default.aspx
There is a section under each school that will say what the latest MCAT administration they will accept for this cycle is.

Sorry, been busy. Here's my sig, in case it still helps. It can always be found in the FAQs at the top of this forum. 😀
I'm applying right now, go ahead and do it ASAP. (warning, secondary apps take a long time to fill out. But before that it will take 6 weeks to process the AACOMAS apps so you can prepare and write them early too. I wish I would of)
Stupid question, but do you need to submit the primary before receiving the secondary?
Yes, you won't receive secondaries until your AACOMAS application is verified, sent out, received by the school, and the school goes over it. But, you can take a gander at some of the secondary essays so you can get started on them. Check out the link on Chocolate Bear's post a few above this one

Not always true. Osu-com has the secondary on the website and recommends sending it in as soon as possible, even before they receive primary. They probably aren't the only one to do this but I don't think it is the norm.

Wasn't aware of that, I haven't really looked at OSU-COM very much, thanks for pointing it out. I wish they all just put their secondaries online and let you send them in like that!
