application

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
When I called AADSAS last week to ask them a question about matching forms, the guy told me that app. will be available on May 16th.

Hello,

I was wondering if we could submit the application on the 16th of May,
or if we should wait until June 1st. Thanks.

You can submit the application as soon as it is available (the trick is that AADSAS will not process any applications until June 1st.), and knowing AADSAS it may or may not be on May 16th so don't be too worried if it is not available on that date.

So in other words, is there any advantage to submitting the application on say may 17 vs may 28? Is what I am wondering

will you calm the f* down... jesus christ it's 10 days difference! What's next? ?! People are going to start posting questions like:

"hey guys, I'm camping out in front of my computer and pressing F5 every 3 seconds so that as soon as the application is up I can start filling it out. Can someone recommend a good stay-awake-pill so that I'll be sure to not miss the opening of the application??"

Someone definately needs to calm down, but it ain't me. Chill out dude!

daaaaaaaaangg~

MVS (at least this time) has a point. A good portion of you upcoming applicants are on the verge of a nervous breakdown over this damn application :scared: . Just relax. Either you get in or you don't- panicking is not going to help anything in the slightest; all that will do is piss off the rest of the people on here. File the application as soon as you can and stop stressing over it. Thank you.

This coming from someone who is applying in two years! Come on, you have no clue what these people are going through. I was pretty relaxed during last years application process, but I went though it and it can be stressful. Come back when you've EXPERIENCED what you are talking about.

Please. It's a damn application. Try experiencing real stress- work in an ICU, get deployed to a combat zone, etc- then come back when you're experienced.

I admit it can be stressful, but not to the bordering on getting your ticket punched for a trip to a nice padded room extent that these people take it. Remember nobody is going to die just because they didn't get into dental school. All I was trying to say was a lot of the people on here need to step back and take a deep breath. Compared to some things that they might have to endure, AADSAS should not be grounds for developing a neurosis or giving oneself a bleeding ulcer.

The applications process is not hard or complicated at all... people feel the need to make it to be. Look, all the info is on the aadsas sites, just figure the **** out and apply. There are many of us who figured it out by ourselves without the need for advisors, or asking dental students, or asking on the forums....

Let's put it this way, if you can't figure out how to fill out the applications and send it off. You don't deserve to go to dental school and I sure as hell dont' want you to work on my teeth.

Competency, it's a trait that is sorely lacking.

Amen. 👍

Haha you all are way too bitter for my tastes. SDN is good...we can ask questions and get quick answers...a time saver.

I'm not bitter....I am a just little annoyed that the most astute and cognizant amongst us, those who are willing to actually search for information are serving as guideposts for the lazy and ineffectual amongst us.

I'm sorry but if you have managed to hold a 3.0+ GPA and score competitively on the DAT, apparently you have some appreciable higher brain function and this is the time to apply that. I mean most of these piddly little questions people come up with have been rehashed ad nauseaum on this site and a simple search will find you the answers which you seek. If not that, then if you have a question about the AADSAS then look on that website. If you have a question about a school, call them and ask. We're all adults here- granted we don't all act like it at times- and all wannabe medical professionals so I think asking people to have the maturity to do a little research on their own is not uncalled for or out of line in the slightest.

If someone has an honest to God problem, something that they have searched high and low and simply can not find an answer then by all means help them. Other than that, I say we go for the Darwinian approach- survival of the fittest (NOTE: Due to recent and ongoing Board of Education discussions, this plan does not apply to those in the State of Kansas   )
