After I saw that i wasn't going to be accepted into the other schools I applied to, I applied to NOVA about 2 weeks before the absolute deadline. (The deadline was April 1).

With my crappy OAT score of 270 and my gpa around 3.3, do you think I would have any chance of getting into NOVA if I would have applied back in September when I applied to the other schools?

Or, is my OAT score going to pretty much hold me back no matter what?

Thanks Again. It's great to be able to ask someone these questions. I don't know who else I would ask besides the people here.

your grades are good enough.. I would HIGHLY recommend studying, retaking the OAT, and applying through next years app cycle EARLY. You have a much better shot applying early during rolling admissions (especially with an improved OAT)

I think that if you applied earlier I think you would've probably been waitlisted...

Are you a 3rd or 4th year? Any experiences in the field?

NOVA still has lots of spots left, and they haven't even started making a wait-list. So I think that you would have been rejected regardless of when you applied. I don't mean to be discouraging, but at least now you know that you should re-take the OAT or do something else to improve your application.

Out of curiosity how do you know that NOVA has plenty of spots left?? 😕 I go school there and no one knows anything about the entering class. Thanks Albaida

I interviewed at Nova two weeks ago. Since it is so late in the application process, I assumed that I would be basically interviewing for the waitlist, and this was true for one of the schools I interviewed with. So I asked Fran about this at my interview, and she said that they still had 10-15 seats unfilled (which is "a lot" to me, at least at this point in the year). When I asked her to confirm that I wasn't just interviewing for the waitlist, she said that they didn't have one going yet, and wouldn't make one until they had filled all the seats.

How high OAT scores do you think is required for NOVA?

They have a minimum of 300 Science Average. You may get accepted with less, but under special circumstances.
