So I applied online for a pharmacist position with Target in California. After completing the application it stated that if I qualified then their human resource department will contact me.

So my question is how long should I wait (its only been 2 days since I applied) before I should just move on? By searching through other posts on Target it seems like its a rigorous process to get hired by Target.

I am already a registered pharmacist, but it seems like there are more chances of getting hired with Target if you are still in school (but will graduate in May 2011) because of the job fairs... So am I out of the loop..?

So how long should i wait, or should I just apply and contact other district managers in which I have contacts with other companies (but if I were to do that Im afraid that I might hear back from Target then)

Did you hear back from them? I applied with Target too about a week ago and just got a "we decided to pursue other candidates" email...

Usually it takes a little while to hear back from them. If they don't give you a call or email in a few days, I'd call one of the stores and see if you can get connected with a pharmacy recruiter some how.

I was just offered a job in the NC area and the whole interview process took about 2-3 weeks. Good luck!

No I still didnt hear back from them (and its only been 1 week though), nor did I get any email stating if they want me or not. But when I went to their website (you can look at your job application activity) it stated that my application is still "Under review".

So should I call on Friday or wait till next monday to call the pharmacy and ask about my status. Fyi when I once called Target pharmacy to get their district manager phone number (prior to me applying online), the pharmacist said that they dont give phone numbers away, and in order to be considered for a job I need to apply online.

when I applied for target I got an email to interview with them after a week. but my interview were with 2 people who had no knowledge about pharmacy, I believe they were the front store manager and some corporate person. after the interview they asked me to do an online assessment and then i got a call for a 2nd interview with the district manager. then he said that they liked me and would contact me to put together a contract. but instead i got an email saying that they where going into a different direction.

ya this whole process with target took over a month, they strung me along to only reject me... so beware, sorry if im being too blunt, but that was my experience with them .
