I am sitting in for the August MCAT (retake) but am debating whether or not to send in my app before I get the actual scores. I have taken it twice before and didn't do so hot. I have 3.54 cum GPA, worked as a surgical service asst, volunteered in a clinic down in Guatemala, worked with the handicapped, done research with West Nile Virus for a year, job shadowed both MD's and a DO, played collegiate baseball and have a couple of academic awards. All in all, are they gonna descriminate against my earlier MCAT scores before they get my AUG MCAT results? Any advice would be EXTREMELY helpful.

I would go ahead and send your application in. That way you can get a lot of the processing done and you can start on the secondaries. As for the MCAT, some schools may ask if you want your file reviewed with the present scores or to wait until your new scores come (if you decide to go ahead now, I don't think they will RE-review your application). In any regard, getting everything in other than your scores is a good thing to do. They will be able to complete and review your application much sooner once the scores are released.

Good luck!
