Apply early? (LIU)

I keep hearing how you guys say it is good to apply early to schools, and LIU's deadline for PHARMCAS is January 5th, 2009. Is it good if I apply now? Do I have a better chance at an interview? Besides, when does the appplication window open, anyway?
