Apply in both DO and MD match

Hi all,

I plan on applying to two different specialties; one (more competitive) in the DO match, and another (less competitive) in the MD match as a back-up. My question is: will programs know that I will be participating in both matches? Reason I ask is because in ERAS it asks which matches i'm participating in and lists my response on the printable version of my application.

This used to be a common strategy, however make sure you know if the programs are even participating in the AOA match as the AOA match is on its last legs.
