I read on the UF website that applications aren't even looked at until the grades from the fall semester are recieved. If thats the case then is it really beneficial to send off your application, say right now, as opposed to maybe beginning December or something? That would give more time to perfect personal statements and supplemental essays. Any thoughts?

I don't think that it would hurt to send everything in as soon as you can but from my own experience, I didn't get everything (all the supplementals) submitted until mid december and I still got an interview letter in mid January for the first round.

That is very satisfying to hear!

I'm almost complete with my application, but I've been kind of rushing it. I thought they were going to email me with the secondary application link, but it never happened! 😀

The supplement is actually posted on their website. You have to apply to UF COP, submit an essay form, and a campus ranking form. It's on this link.

And by essay form, do they mean the 8ish or so short answer questions they ask?

Sweet deal! Thanks a bunch 🙂

Ok, I received supplementals from Nova (complete), LECOM (complete) and PBA (almost complete). I have been anxiously awaiting that of UF. So, if I understand correctly, I don't need to wait for UF to email me the supplemental, I can just go right now:

1) submit the essay form
2) the campus ranking form
3) and apply through the UF website

If that's true, then I'm heading over there!

You got it! Everything you need for UF's supplemental is on the website I posted previously. Just follow the steps (the links to the supplemental documents/UF application are below in that document).

Last year they didn't email it, you had to find it yourself on their website.

I submitted everything in August and they don't even interview until February! It sucks waiting around. At least I get to go to interviews at other schools in the mean time.

I attend UF right now, and the pharmacy admissions adviser for our pre-pharmacy club said they are going to start reviewing applications within the next week and they are hoping to have an interview early December. But they aren't sure if they will hold one then or not...I guess we'll see 🙂

Did your advisor happen to mention how the school reviews applications? i.e. date of submission, ranked by gpa/pcat, prereqs at UF...? This is just something I was curious about.

He said that they consider the dates that the Pharmcas and supplemental applications were submitted since they do rolling admission. Also, he said that they will look at UF student's applications who have a 3.0 math/science GPA and 70th percentile PCAT but I know that the stats for other students at other schools need to be a little higher. About how they do it percent wise for interview, pcat scores, gpa etc. I'm not really sure. He always emphasizes extracurriculars and the supplemental questions to set students apart.

Now, I'm confused. I thought UF did not have rolling admissions.

Rolling admissions just means that they accept people throughout their interview process (regardless if they start interviewing in October or February). If a school did not have rolling admissions, they would send out all of their acceptance letters at once after all interviews are completed.

Right, so if they decide to hold an interview in December then they will send out acceptance letters within two weeks after the interview date. He did say that if they hold that interview it will only be at the Gainesville campus, the distance campuses usually don't start interviewing until the spring.

I find this interesting because according to their website, they do not start reviewing application until the Spring of 2008. Hopefully, the website is not misleading.

That is what the website says, but they are trying to begin interviewing in December. Our advisor is on the board of admissions and he gives us admissions updates every month at our meetings. This is only their second year interviewing so they are still trying to work everything out. He said they want to start as early as possible, but is not guaranteeing an early interview.
But he did say that they are beginning to look at completed applications within the next week or two.
